About Stump & Limb

Tree work is one of the most opaque purchases a homeowner makes. It's infrequent, urgent when it happens, and priced on factors most people can't evaluate — so quotes for the same tree can vary by hundreds of dollars, and there's no sticker price to check them against.

Stump & Limb exists to be that sticker price. We maintain a structured dataset of tree service costs — by tree size, species, situation, and state — and publish it as free guides and calculators. How we build the numbers is documented in our methodology.

How the site makes money

When you request quotes, we refer your job to licensed, insured tree services in your area and they pay us a referral fee. That's the entire business model. Referral fees never change the price you're quoted, and no company can pay to change a number in our guides.
